favourite place in your country to visit
Hope you are doing well headlump.
Take care my friend and have a great weekend.
Agree with Arizona. A road trip through the desert is so amazingly different from the lush green I'm used to and I like to see something different when I go away. Hot though. If I had to pick a city I'd go to NY or SF. Hawaii has great beaches and weather.

See Ken Burns National Parks, find it on DVD or streaming. This should whet your appetite.
My goal is to visit as many National Parks as possible. Go West Young Man. Visit the mesa man. I spent a week in Yellowstone National Park. The comparison to a week in Yellowstone is like going into Macy's for a few minutes and leaving. Grand Tetons etc.
Yosemite is a great choice. There is an entire lifetime of places to see in America.
If you have the time and $$$ - rent a car and plot out a driving trip.

FE, loved Istanbul. Definitely want to go back there someday.
Stoogy thanks for this thread my man, I am really enjoying it.
So, where do I start? My home is in Scotland, the land of my heart if not my birth and my favourite place in all of Scotland is Glencoe. It calls my soul

But now I am living in Boston Massachusetts for a while and I love it too
It is a wonderful mix of history and innovation, and the courage of the people is incredible. I felt honoured to be able to support this years marathon and shouted myself hoarse.
Below is the wonderful Trinity Church, reflected in the John Hancock Tower. This epitomises Boston to me on a variety of levels, not least that the tower in all it's awesome modernity is named for one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence.
