I've been telling myself for over twenty years that alcohol is POISON. For some reason, that didn't stop me from drinking for any length of time. Yet.

If you stop and think about it, when in the history of the human race has knowing certain things were wrong ever stopped people from doing them anyhow? Many want to do them even more when they know they should not be doing those things! When God told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit of a certain tree it only made them say, "We really must try some of that forbidden fruit Gods been ragging on us about".

It is much better to think that alcohol is poison than to think that there is any good in it. However the knowing might not be all that is required to stop.
