Can someone suggest some alternative drinks to alcohol
Is there anything that has a bit of a kick to it or hits the taste buds that doesn't contain alcohol.
Ive been experiencing some strong urges to drink alcohol lately, almost told myself that seeing as though Ive been sober for 6 weeks now it would be ok to go and buy a few bottles of beer. I really dont want to do that, but I want something else to go and buy, a drink that doesnt contain alcohol.

There is no "replacement" for alcohol, not for the alcoholic. I was a beer drinker. I did find that the carbonation of seltzer water hit the spot for me.
Stay away from NA beer.
Stay away from NA beer.
Freudian slip there karate - schnapple?
I picked up some carrot juice from costco. it's barely palatable, but I mix it 1/2n1/2 with cranberry juice and it is yummy.
you need to get yourself a juice machine or one of those high horsepower blenders. vita mix or something.
start drinking smoothies, you can invent all kinds of healthy and tasty drinks. make yourself some virgin marys. try it with spicy V8. get the low sodium stuff tho

Why stay away from non-alcoholic beer? because it tastes horrible or because it might act as a trigger to drink real beer?

Non alcoholic beer is beyond pointless to me. I always drank to get wasted. I mean sure sometimes certain beers or liquor would "taste good" (usually about 7 or 8 in) but it was soley for intoxication purposes. Basically drinking non alcoholic beer would just remind me of beer and remind me that I CAN'T drink beer normally. It would make me just obsess over it all over again.
Lime crystal light and flavored soda water is actually pretty good and has that "fuzzy kick" like soda. I'm trying to curb my soda intake and this seems to be working well.
Also, sounds vanilla but plain old ICE cold water is just glorious.
Not the sexiest choices but they work for me.
Edit: This is purely my experience however. I don't judge those who do drink/enjoy non alcoholic beer. (:

NA Beer makes no sense to me. I don't think anything good can come from NA beer. If you're looking for new stuff to drink after quitting NA anything really isn't a good idea in my mind. I think it will just trigger me to drink a real beer.

I love those Neuro drinks.. they are a little pricey (not really when you compare to beer - lol). I stock up when they are on sale for 2 bucks. they come in various flavors - plain or fizzy and only have 35 calories. most delicious on a hot day - or any time.
even most non-alcoholic beer has a small amount of alcohol, which could cause relapse for recovering alcoholics. research has shown that the smell of any kind of beer may be enough to cause reactions in an alcoholic’s mind, triggering cravings. The smell may actually raise the brain’s level of dopamine, which gives the individual a high, making them want more. It may be the anticipation of drinking alcohol that aids in the addiction for more.
