Hello,

I need to stop drinking. I'm on a bottle of wine plus at least 6 beers or ciders every night. I've managed to be abstinent before, the longest for about four months. That was two years ago, and now I struggle to get beyond a week.

It just seems harder now. I feel my health deteriorating, and I'm overweight.

So my first step is coming back on here. Hopefully I can get on top of this again.

when i stopped drinking i simply went along to aa meetings i made a promise to myself i would just go to a meeting every day and thats all i did.
it got me out of my flat and gave me a little bit of routine in my life, the rest is history now and its been 10 years since my last drink i still go to aa not because i must but because i want to and just help anyone who might need help or a friend. its my way of giving back what was given to me. so good luck to you

well this is a good place to start. A lot of us had simlier issues etc.. its a tough battle but one day at a time makes it easier.
