Im about ready to throw up the white flag !

Darned blood sugar ,almost shaking .............again .

Its not as bad as hangover shakes ,but yall get the idea .

Ate a can of tuna ,and 3 eggs ,its letting up now .

Now the headache is coming on ........ grrrrrrr

My mother used to have it so bad ,she would be scared to drive .

She is a non drinker , because of blood sugar .

doggonecarl 05-06-2014 09:26 AM

Maybe it's time for a physical. Before "blood sugar" become diabetes.

soberlicious 05-06-2014 09:29 AM

Can you stay ahead of it so it doesn't get to that? My sister has diabetes. She has to plan well, but in doing so she's able to manage well.

karate 05-06-2014 09:31 AM

Yes ,its about time .

I can plan well and stay ahead of it eating .

I feel fine ,get busy and forget ...........until I shake .

Yes its stupid .

SoberLeigh 05-06-2014 09:32 AM

A visit to your doctor probably in order, Karate.

ScottFromWI 05-06-2014 09:54 AM

I'd agree, have you ever seen a doctor about this? I know you've mentioned it many times ( the blood sugar issue ). Could be as simple as changing your diet a bit, but best to let someone who knows for sure find out.

Indeed , however they tried to say I was Bi-polar the last time ...
I was scheduled for blood sugar test , but had to work .
So I cancelled appointment .

I replied ,doc to you feel the same every day :) ,He said No .

Blood sugar from 60 to 140 makes some dramatic mood swings .

As my posts indicate .

I figured a lot of folks here figured I was drunk ,or using drugs .

With the mental awareness ,I can stay in a semi calm state now .
And with anger in remission ( im recovering rageholic ) I can manage without screaming at co workers or punching walls. I can claim to be a recovered alcoholic
But the anger ,ill never claim mastery .I am powerless over anger . Just a daily reprive .

Mentally ,I can power through the psysical symptoms .

biminiblue 05-06-2014 10:01 AM

I set alarms on my phone and my watch to remind me to eat. Maybe you could try that? Give yourself a snack every three hours. It only takes a minute to eat something and it will change your life around dramatically.

huntingtontx 05-06-2014 10:17 AM

Secondary carbs and dried fruit. I have had low blood sugar for a long time. Don't skip snacks or meals. Keep something in your pocket. I get silly when mine gets low.

That still doesn't mean you shoudln't see a doctor. Look at how many times you tried to "power through" your drinking urges mentally and failed until you finally accepted help from the outside. The same thing applies here - if you are having a physical problem, see someone who knows how to diagnose and treat physical problems ( a doctor ). You can make time and you should. Call today.

My boss has diabetes. He sees a doctor, get medication and watch his diet. It does not make him less of a man and he is a very productive person. We almost lost him a while back because he thought he was Mr Macho >rolling eyes<
See a doctor, there is no shame in seeking medical help so you can keep being productive and healthy.

ya know karate My sugar results came back normal in tests but I also have my fair share of issues.

If i recall your a pretty healthy guy and yo exercise or are more physically active then the average joe. That being said you might just be torching your sugar way too fast and not putting it back quick enough.

I had simlier issues and the doc said with my running I was probably smoken all my sugar and there wasnt much in reserve for my body to properly manage things.

I tried a low carb diet obviously with my running there is not enough sugar there.

it may sound crazy to some but now I eat a very low fat very high carbohydrate all vegan diet and I have much less issues. I also try and stay ahead of it by snacken throughout the day.

I avoid the white flours and such I focus primarily on fruit for my calories and nutrion and theres a TON of sugar in fruit etc..

and no fruit doesnt make you fat lol. I eat almost 80lbs of bananas alone per week and i'm skinny as a rail I also eat 4-6000 calories a day.

Point is maybe you just gotta keep fuel in the furnace!

Im pretty fit , and very active .

Likley too active , you might be correct .

Burning food faster than its going in.

Dee74 05-06-2014 04:56 PM

If you do have hypoglycemic issues, seeing a Dr will help.
You could find yourself even fitter and more active :)

Yep try snacking on bananas or something. I crank down dates for a big sugar bump they even got those glucose tablets but I stick with fruit for the nutrition. eating carbs from say oatmeal or brown rice or fruit or potatos etc.. stuff with fiber and nutritions all helps.

I bet if you strived to crank in 10-20 banans a day at least you'd see some good results. Bananas are like my new beer lol.

Dee is right.

I know my fitness levels went throught he ROOF when i started smashing in more fruit etc.. I have way better endurance and stamina etc..

FeenixxRising 05-06-2014 05:43 PM

Karate, do you have blood glucose meter? Do you even check your blood sugar numbers? Seriously, stop all this self diagnosis bullsh*t and see your doctor.

karate 05-06-2014 06:10 PM

I have not checked it in a while , but yes have checked it in the past .

Of course I read a couple of books on it as well .

I get busy and forget to eat .

My regular job , is slowly killing me - that im somewhat sure of .
No matter how anyone performs , it's never enough .

The home office is very unreasonable , what they expect
Is nowhere logical .

I don't actually hate my job though , as crazy as that sounds
Just made up my mind to do it with a good attitude.

They never fire anyone for not meeting the unreasonable goals
But I do try .

I take the griping - in one ear out the other

The sleep deprivation , and stress have taken years off my life .

In the next two years I expect to move to my part time job full time

gaffo 05-06-2014 08:28 PM

I was drinking at least 1000 calories per day. It took some time and effort to "recalibrate" my metabolism when I quit.
