Might go back to old job

I cant rely on my parents for money. Im arguing with them about finances. My friend cleans houses and I am going to do that occasionally for 20 dollars an hour. If walmart will take me back when I went there today my old coworkers wanted me to come back and work there. I thought about it hard I need the money to pay for gas, food, and to save up for when I move out. Tomorrow im going to talk to my supervisor and see if I can get my job back. Im pretty certain they will. I left on good terms with everyone. This is only going to be temporary until I find a job that I want in the field I graduated in. Which is social work. Being able to support myself and my sobriety is very important right now.

One of the keys to recovery is to grab a lunch bucket and get a job. We got to be self supporting, sounds similar to something else somewhere I read on some poster somewhere on some wall somewhere.

Anoronha,
I think you're doing the right thing. That additional part time will be like a weekly raise !!

My plan is to work for a year and save up enough money for a year to go abroad for a year or even locally so I can do an internship or perhaps even volunteer.

I took my job back at a company i left on good terms with. I've been back about 8 years now. In my case I totally despise it. I dont regret my choice it was a good choice to make at the time. I just did not expect to 8 years later still be stuck there. Its better then no job or not enough money but my nerves are so fried sometimes I wonder if its better then no job.

I'm glad for you. In your case it sounds like your maken a good choice. Money is money. I think you got a good plan.

It's easier to be sober , if you like your job .

Co workers are great where I work too

Take it easy on yourself now for the first few weeks. Let your body adjust to the work.

No matter what your sobriety comes first. Everything else will come second.
