going on 13 months sober
going on 13 months sober
Hi folks. Ive been so busy with life ive ignored the people that help me get back in it. Im truly sorry for not logging in here at sr and chiming in on various problems that we as alcoholics go through. I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for being here for me. My one 1 year came and past so quickly it's downright scary. The only other thing that I can offer you all that is, staying sober and living your life without drinking is so much better. If you're just now quitting and your wondering weather staying sober is worth it, I can 100% assure you it is. Please put your fears aside and try it. You will wake up one morning and just know it. You will be free from this terrible affliction known as alcoholism. Trust me. God bless you all. And thank you for allowing me to be here.
Thanks for the inspiration Wayne, and well done on 13 months.
I like what you've written about putting fear aside. Many of us fear we will be deprived without alcohol, that we will be unable to have fun or let our hair down every once in awhile. Of course, most of us are long past moderating with a few drinks and having a little fun. Our drinking long ago being anything but fun and more like a nightmare we can't wake up from.
Still we fear what a sober future will hold. I often say to myself that I need to have the courage to find out what a sober life will be like. Doing so helps to keep me strong, and it helps me to keep thoughts focused on the good things to come.
