Hi soberme, if you're serious about quitting, don't go out with your friend. How about sitting down and writing out all the reasons why you wanted to quit in the first place. It's easy to forget after a few days of sobriety.
Meet you friend for coffee during the day instead.

If you've lost ambition to stay sober, it may be a good excuse not to go.
You could go and drink soda and be the designated driver.
Once you get some sober time behind you, you'll find ways to be sober without the social lubricant of alcohol.
Best to you.

When I got sober, I had to learn how to spend my time with friends. And honestly, I ended up getting new friends because everyone I knew prior to sobriety was a drinking buddy. Take care of yourself.
Sounds like your setting yourself up for a relapse.
I would either stay home or go somewhere without alcohol until your ambition returns.
It is tough in the beginning, but gets much easier as sober times builds.
Don't put yourself in a made-to-order failure situation.
