A drinking dream

I'm sure it's just a complete coincidence but a good reminder that there needs to be a plan of action.

The past week has been gruesome and I'm about at the bottom of the barrel of self esteem. This includes both home and work. Haven't thought of walking off the path but I think that the fracking AV works just as hard subconsciously.

Last night I dreamed that I drank. Not just a taste, or a few, I did it up. For some weird reason I sobered up pretty quickly and I was horrified at all the work that I had done and having to start back on the path again. It was pretty vivid. Then I woke up and was relieved.

I know that alcohol doesn't solve any problem and am fully aware of it doing the exact opposite. For the love of whoever I could just use a freaking break right now.

Time to do some work.

FWIW, drinking dreams are very common in early sobriety.

I have had them and I hate them too. The guilt and remorse you feel just before you wake up is horrible. The last one I was running around in circles in my mind trying to figure out what to do, what to say, who to call...round and round.

When I woke up and realized it was a dream I was so grateful I don't have to live that way anymore.

Hang in there

I treat them as a gift. God reminds me in the safety of my bed, what can happen if I drink again.

Yes they were so scary for me also. Mine were in full dimension from start to finish including the sneaking, hiding, lying and things I hadn't remembered.
As said above it's a great remember when for those still wondering or forgetting the facts.

BE WELL
