I was a binge drinker at the tail end of my drinking and I know for a fact that I was addicted to alcohol. I could go months at a time and usually start out slow when I started drinking but ended up drinking way too much alcohol for myself in a short period of time.
If not addicted, then your husband is obviously compensating for some issue. I hope he can find out what it is. Hope it all works out in both of your favor.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.... addiction and substance abuse don't always go hand in hand. You can occasionally use something to excess and never really be addicted. You can be addicted and choose to abstain.
