Welcome to SR Leonidas,

Although the "Secular Connections" section is not quite as busy, ....there are some great threads of different methods.

Secular Connections - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

I like your proactive approach ;.... already making changes in your diet and exercize.

"only 7 weeks "

Congrats on that kind of perspective;.....speaks volumes !!

This right here. Reading over the detoxing stories it seems most everyone is either extremely happy they got help from a doctor or really wish they had.

It`s official, Day 1 is over and now on Day 2, who hoo!.

Day 1 was thankfully super easy, no withdrawls or cravings yet but didn`t take long for the crazy dreams to start wow lol.

It was probably harder to wake up because it was the first night of deep sleep you've had in a while! Lol hopefully you sleep well tonight and feel rested tomorrow!

Could be. I remember last time I was on the wagon I had to peel myself out of bed everyday as well. Think it`s just one of my withdrawal symptoms. Unfortuanately think I`m just gonna have to deal with it for the next few months. I know some people have it worse when they first quit so I`m trying to look at the brightside.

To be completely honest, I don't know. I have a buddy who attends NA meetings sometimes, think I'm going to head there with him this next week. I have sometime off of work Apr 1st so even re-hab has been a thought.

Any suggestions Dee?

Check out the secular connections forum. I went to one AA meeting and it wasn't for me, but luckily I came across AVRT on the secular connections forum and because of it I am determined to never drink again.

Day 1 again today.

Hope things turn out better than my last attemps... It's just so so hard. I truely admire you folks that found the strength to kick it. Feeling down and hopeless right now. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it.

I found that luck had little to do with getting sober, until I took action. Once I had a plan and put effort into following it, things fell in place.
