slipped. pretty hard.
still here. got a couple in me to keep the spiders away. felt a bit seizure-ish this morning. about to run out of beer (medicine now). can take care of that soon. should feel fortunate that I have those five bucks to buy more booze. not feeling very good tho. otherwise physically fit and attractive body is now like that of a 90 year old, well... maybe worse. everything hurts. just wanted to say hi.

FYI - When Doctor Bob, one of the founding members of AA, was working his steps. He was making his amends right after a surgery. Before the surgey they gave him booze to calm his DT's so he could operate. I love to read the history of AA, its neat to know where the organization came from and how they worked the steps in the old days when they had a great success rate. These days the success rate is so dismal. But if we work the steps out of the book, as a base model. We can have great success at not only being sober, but living a happy sober life. I realized that I gained so much more out of life when I had become recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body. I could never have imagined the great things to come when I put my will down, change my thoughts, and help others by doing His will.
I wish you the best of luck. What are you willing to do today to stay sober?
hoping to be near the end, but mind is so foggy from insomnia it's hard to say what shape I'm in. A good night's sleep would tell me a lot. Spent most of the day in bed keeping the worst symptoms away, trying to meditate and stuff like that.
A kind word or friendly gesture can go a long way. Don't need to be thinking about anything negative right now!
I did tell some friends and family hoping they'd be supportive. Some have. I could totally go for a room where someone monitors me, but don't have that available. ah well.
Thanks and take care
Hi Zebra. I've been following your thread all week, and I think your approach sounds a little torturous. If you have health insurance (or even if you don't) -- maybe it's time to consider professional help?
I wouldn't wish that on anyone! It worked. Just in time too.
Yesterday I was down to about 10% baseline and slept an hour, and felt great after that. Today I slept all day long and feel worlds better. 0%. No smokes for however long either. The insomnia was really dragging things out; it shouldn't be allowed to zombify one like that. Makes choices and decisions more difficult.
Thanks for being around everyone. I notice some odd posts by me.. apologies about that.. don't really know what to say. This wasn't a very good example of a taper.
I appreciate the posts and good wishes, and take care

There are AA meetings around. I can give those a try. I also signed up for a few special-interest clubs a while back, maybe I'll give those a shot. Some sound interesting, I was either too busy, too drunk, or most likely, too shaky to go.
Thanks again for being around as I went through this. It was nice to not be alone.

Hello hiddenzebra. Just came across this thread and wanted to let you know I'm rooting for ya. You have a writing style that's interesting to read. I hope you can keep that booze behind you and refer to this topic if you're ever tempted again.

thought I would.
Sounds like you enjoy fitness things. Me too.
I did Crossfit pretty seriously for a year or so to get back in shape
and then switched to Yoga.
Some of us are physical beings more than others and need that.
Maybe you too?
I'm glad you're feeling better hz. I was worried.
