CAPTAINZING2000 02-15-2014 07:14 AM

Deek

deeker 02-15-2014 07:16 AM

Thepatman 02-15-2014 07:24 AM

This is over exaggerated by the media like any other issue out there.

Over drinking competitions existed way before Facebook. I remember playing caps or card games in my 20's.

Result is potentially the same, people turn into Alcoholics.

My 2 cents

CAPTAINZING2000 02-15-2014 07:40 AM

True but fb can't possibly monitor it and sadly the kids have to show off for what ever there reason be it low self esteem etc.

LDT 02-15-2014 08:00 AM

Let me get this straight...... FB will closely monitor videos depicting bullying, etc ( from which people have died ), yet feel these drinking games ( from which people have died) are merely controversial or offensive to some, and only get a "case by case" look.

Right....makes perfect sense to me.

Nineteen67 02-15-2014 10:24 AM

Is that the "Neknominate" nonsense? Seen vids of people downing bottles of spirits in a oner, drinking booze blended with spiders, dead mice etc, and even people drinking their own ****!

A few well deserved Darwin Awards heading to those folk.

CAPTAINZING2000 02-15-2014 10:34 AM

I never underestimate the amount of stupidity done for the sake of peer pressure

Ipanema 02-16-2014 06:43 PM

To Captain,

I have a Granddaughter going off to college soon. After reading this I will talk to her. And the predisposition she could inherit from me and others makes it even more dangerous!! Thank you for taking the time to share this....you may have just saved some lives!!! God Bless You!! Ipanema

I hope universities are cracking down on fraternities and sororities from the practice of hazing. Freshmen are extremely vulnerable trying to fit in and being away from home the first time.

Yeah, I was gonna say, this kind of crap has been going on for years. I remember reading about "power hour" fatalities in the paper years ago. It seems kind of ironic because the media is supposed to report on things and be knowledgeable, and yet they act like this is breaking news... Come on, seriously.

newhope01 02-16-2014 11:00 PM

Very disturbing to watch.

MrTumble 02-17-2014 12:36 AM

Speaking as someone who has always enjoyed lots of booze, I would never of done someting quite so idiotic.

hollybear 02-17-2014 01:30 PM

scary stuff! Alcohol plays WAY too big of a role in our society, in my humble opinion

foolsgold66 02-17-2014 01:33 PM

Can't have full freedom and full safety. Tis life as always.

DoubleBarrel 02-17-2014 01:40 PM

I try not to become too self righteous after spending decades drinking, it would be pretty hypocritical to now become overly temperance minded and judgmental towards the rest of the world.

I just do my own thing.

When I was growing up drinking and drugging, there was no FB to advertise it on. Thank you Lord.
