Hearing someone's 5th step

I am volunteering to be a temporary sponsor.
I am hearing someone's 5th step on Wednesday.
This will be my first time doing this.
I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone can give me.
I want to make sure I do it right so that we don't waste each other's time.

Thanks,
Dab

I remember the last 5th step I heard. I prayed before I got there to just let Thy Will be done etc. Because I felt honored and probably a little inept. I was sponsoring the guy for a while and he was really quiet and bottled up. After he did his 5th though, and we parted etc., his life seemed to really open up. He became a "fireball" with a personality, got his life on track etc. I'd say just be humble, it is an honor and he did pick you for a reason, so just be yourself. You can also work steps 6 and 7 right after you hear his/her 5th. That's what I've done. Thanks.

I haven't taken anyone through the steps yet, but when the time comes I imagine I will try and use what my sponsor did with me as a blueprint. I think youbetcha's advice to pray to HP for guidance is spot on, and try to remember that everyone who has listened to a 5th step has been in your shoes.
