Its difficult for me open up in AA meetings

Get a Sponsor and let yourself open up with your Sponsor. After I Sponsored ~1yr I had heard just about everything imaginable. As a Sponsor we are bond to confidentiality. As an alternate to the 5th step you are welcome to have your discussion with a Priest, Minister, etc.
By the way I was very shy and quiet in early meetings. I will and do discuss almost anything in a meeting today. It helps me heal. But I am a dual diagnosis alcoholic and if I discussed this in a meeting would be many folks who would not understand. My Sponsor is very helpful on issues like this.
