I would buy a $10 bottle of wine a day and then supplement that with my husbands expensive whisky, since I was in the closet about my drinking. Then I would have to replace at $75 a bottle every three days so that averages out to around $160 a week. I tried replacing with the cheap whisky but I was afraid he would notice the taste difference.
so average yearly expense $8320. This does not incluse all the drinking I did when we went out to dinner and bars.

My apologies. I thought this thread was just to drag up the horrible past. I spent everything I had on alcohol and drugs. There was no budgeting when I was drinking. I rarely even had a tax paying job.

I usually would pickup 1 or 2 large bottles of a nice micro brew at the store after work, say $5 on average. Then at least four or five nights a week I would follow that up by going out for dinner and have 1-2 glasses of wine, So that would average say $10-15 five nights per week.

So $35-40 for beer and another $50-75 on wine is maybe $100 per week. But I wouldn't be going out to eat so often if I weren't drinking. So add another $100 a week for extra dinners out (usually by myself). So I would guess I was spending at least $200 per week or $10K per year because of my alcohol habit, half that on alcohol. Sounds about right.

It's all good

I often direct folks to similar threads - not because this thread is redundant, but because some people like to read more.
Mr T saved me the trouble in this case.

Sometimes a thanks is just a thanks ESN, not an insight into my worldview, y'know?

I defended your right to this thread topic a few posts up.
