90-Days today
I must say, things are getting easier. Just completed a business trip, plenty of drinking going on around me, didn't get any heat about drinking Arnold Palmers during festivities. Nobody really seemed to notice or care. I got all worked up to prepare my excuses and it was a non issue. I'm getting pretty comfortable with socializing without booze. It's easy to see now how ridiculous I must have looked before. Easy for me to now see milder signs of that problem with others, a little too charged up and overly animated.
At any rate it is getting easier, and I'm gaining a confidence about myself I haven't had in a very long time. I have nothing to hide, there is no "other" side of me, no Mr Hyde behind door-B, and I can trust myself to be consistent and even keel 100% of the time. That ain't a bad feeling.

1st event sober was a wedding. asked a friend how to deal with people that ask about my not drinkin. had some good lines all set up. wasn't ever asked.
after the wedding, talkin with my friend, he said,"yeah, I didn't think you were really that important." buggered me up for a bit, but he was right.

once after sobering up years ago and returning to work
I was amazed how goofy the other alcoholics acted
then I thought to myself
when I was drinking I was the worst of all
humbling
congratulations on your 90 days sober
