Just to save everyone else the trouble ....
Just to save everyone else the trouble ....
The first beer will reset the cravings clock , back to the start .
Had 1 beer yesterday , cravings are back today .
No , I did not submit to them , but it has been difficult .
Just want to save others the trouble

Karate what are you doing buddy. I read your posts and you keep me motivated with stuff like " kill the enemy " and other total anti drinking literature and then you go and have a beer. Treat it like one of your old sparring partners and beat the S%#t out of it. Get right back on the old saddle lad and give it the old " karate " chop. You got this chap. MB8
Hang in there Karate, just try not to think about it. What got me past those early cravings was not a fight, it was a surrender. I raised the white flag and gave up and things started getting better. Sure, I tried all the tough talk too. I could dig up posts here where I did the same thing you are doing now. Forcefully demonstrated my hate for alcohol here in posts and made references to Ali and quoted Stallone lines. A week later I was boozing again because focusing on alcohol even angrily was still just that, focusing on alcohol. It kept the thought of alcohol at the forefront of my mind when I should have been pushing it to the back.
The sooner you can remove alcohol from the equation in your mindset, the sooner you can begin to recover. Just try this time to think less of it, give it no regard. No Quarter in your conscience, no room for rent, just left in the cold to die. No fanfare or funeral, just forgotten. Don't reminisce in ignorant bliss.

Karate - I think many here care about you, I do. I am sorry if my response was not what you wanted to here but I hope some of it sticks. I just encourage you to read your own posts - all the answers you have already written. You just need to decipher the codes. Look at the intervals between your urges and rationalizing taking one drink or one shot. Its going to get tougher and tougher this way.
BTW - How did your tower climbing work out?
