I think I'm finally getting the full concept of One Day At A Time

Today I was thinking, how on earth do you go the rest of your life not ever having a drink, that was sorta tough to swallow....you know you can't have that ONE not ONE or you're right back at square one. So then I sat and thought ok, stop thinking, just stay in today, that's a tough one at times.

Anyway now I know why that is used so much, must have been a lightbulb moment for me... One Day At A Time a good reminder. And another reminder STOP THINKING.

You are so right. I heard those words so often and never really let it sink in. And, when you do, it lightens the load, because forever is just so overwhelming. This is really a learn as you go experience!

Exactly! I think realizing you're thinking too much is a step in the right direction. Just stop! That's what I have to tell myself all the time!

Yep.
I was sober yesterday. Cool. It's gone now.
Tomorrow has yet to arrive. If I take care of today, if I'm attentive to what I do and what I see, if I'm applying the Steps where I can in my daily affairs, the odds of me being sober when my head hits the pillow are good. It's a cliche, but tomorrow never knows...

Glad your switch got flipped!! I know what you mean though, no way can I think about not drinking the rest of my life. Today is what counts.
