I did it. !!
The other day I posted about how scared I was to go to my doc and get blood drawn. I've wanted to do it for over a year but spent that year drinking and being scared instead. Anyway today I forced myself to face the music. I marched into my docs office, told her about my relapse but didn't tell her how much I've been drinking. Wasn't ready for that yet.
Anyway, she drew a bunch of blood and I go back on Thursday to face the numbers. Talk to her about next steps. So tonight I'm sober. And nervous. But proud that after a year of wanting to do this, I did it. I know the numbers will be... not good. I am very sick at this point. But the only way to turn this around is to take the first step and face the numbers, the reality of what I've done.
I just wanted to share that.

Good for you, CloudyDays! The first step is usually the hardest, but now you've done that. I hope the numbers aren't as bad as you're thinking and that you and your doctor can come up with a plan. However, I would be honest with her about how much you were drinking. I can almost guarantee that you won't shock her.

Well done! I am scared of needles also. Glad you took the courage to face the music. Hope your blood tests are ok. If there are a few issues, keep faith that not drinking will improve your health, so results this week can change as your body repairs itself.
