Numbness in my Arm

I have numbness in my arm (like when your arm falls asleep). My internet search shows that this is a typical symptom of long term Alcohol use.
Has anyone else had this and did it go away after you quit?

I've had numbness in my arm(s) but it was due to carpal tunnel.

I would suggest going to your doctor to get it checked out. It could be a symptom of several things I believe.

Had it in my legs it was due to deficiancy caused by alcohol, doc sorted me out and i'm fine now. My dad had it bad last year, he kept saying he had a virus but I knew it was from drinking and he refused to go to the doc. He's not fine now!

I would check with a Dr. To make sure it's nothing serious. Best wishes.

There is something called "Alcoholic neuropathy" that I found that has all the symptoms that I have. This happened once before to me and it was a pinched nerve so I am not sure.

I developed severe carpal tunnel syndrome and in the end got it operated on.... so much better now

Otherwise I was fortunate not to have more physical symptoms from alcohol although the ones I had were bad enough - I hope you see your doc...

I would forgo the internet searches and see a Doctor if my arm was numb. This could be any number of things. Why take a chance BeachLiving?

To answer your question, NO my arm/arms never went numb.

Best Wishes To You

Hi BeachLiving. I did have numbness in my arm & hand. After a few months of being sober it went away, never to return. I agree though - check with your doctor for reassurance.

Hi BL
you had two identical threads so I merged them, for you. It's easier for people to follow that way.

I would see a Dr to be safe - it may be nothing, but who knows?

I had numbness and tingling all over my body when I quit. But not one arm per se. That might be something you want to get checked out considering you are also having BP issues.
