Odap!
Odap!
I just got back from my first AA meeting in the past 2 years--which was TOTALLY awesome, and the leader said that what helped him was thinking about that tiny voice ODAP as being this ugly, gnarly, warty troll sitting on his left shoulder telling him to "drink drink drink!" I thought that that was really helpful. I mean, why would I want to listen to this nasty thing telling me to drink or even about anything ELSE??? I'm not putting my life in the hands of some troll. :uzi2:
I picture my nasty demon as a wild, drunken calamity Jane. She is out for herself and is no friend of mine, though she pretends to be my best friend.
I have to tell her to go back to her grave....she did in fact die of alcoholism.
We don't ride together anymore :uzi2:

Don't you mean "men/women?"
Roy--
Isn't it easier to look at that voice in such vulgar, and unpleasant ways? It is for me anyway. Otherwise, it'll warp your thinking--promises of paradise, roads paved with gold, and all that other good stuff that is actually a gilded hell.
This disease wants me dead...so that voice is no friend of mine!

Peace and Prayers,

Thank you Roy, that was truly kind of you. I'm glad to know that I'm helping in some way. In fact, I've always known that to be my "calling" in life. I'm taking things one day at a time, and not trying to think about "why this or why that"...such as, why did I spend the last 6 years on a Communications Major (the ultimate NON major LOL), when I knew that's not what I really wanted to do? But...everything happens for a reason...
