So I owe my sponsor an amends I did something wrong. I wrote it out and talked with my good friend from the program. I think it is a good idea I didn't mean to do what I did. Anyone have to make an amends to their sponsor before?

I actually had to make amends to my sponsor about 2 months ago. I was doing a 5th step with her and lied about something that was on my harms list and I had lied to that person as well, because I was worried what she/they would think of me. The dishonesty was eating away at me causing guilt which I realized very detrimental to my recovery. She completely understood and actually came clean about doing something similar. By being honest with her meant I was being honest with myself, it reminded me of being in my disease trying to keep all my lies straight :-/ Hope that helps!! Good luck to you, and glad you're here.

I didn't make an amends but I did lie by omission which is still a lie. I went to her a couple days later and told her the entire story, not just the part I wanted her to hear.

She understood and was not judgmental at all. We were then able to talk about the problems I was having.

It is good that you are willing to make amends. The point it to clear our side of the street and I could not do that if I left some issues or people out.

most all Sponsors that have been around for a while
have seen this from time to time
