Reminder
On the way back from Bells this morning, one of the locals said that a friend of mine was taken into hospital last night.
I went straight over to see his wife, as this is a real friend, rather than just someone I saw in the bar, and sure enough, he hit the deck last night at home, had what they think is a minor fit, the ambulance came and took him off to hospital.
I've just been to see him, he's fine, sitting up laughing and joking, and full of Chlordiazepoxide. The doctor has him on a tapering dose over the next five days, with large doses of thiamine. He's also down for a brain scan on tuesday, just to be sure.
He knows I've been going to meetings, and has supported me, never tried to offer me a drink or anything to dissuade me from the decision I have taken.
We have had some monumental **** ups together - and he said to me today, "I think I have a problem too."
I'm sooooo glad he is OK, I just wonder what he'll do now when he comes home.
much love

"I think I have a problem too."
I wish him well. And I marvel at the simple fact that should he decide to follow through and join the Fellowship, he will have a close friend there with him to make his arrival in the rooms a little less stressful than it might be for him.
We get to keep what we have by giving it away...
Well done JC.
Well done.
