Help me make it to 11:30 pm

I'm three days sober. I feel healthy, I feel good. So good I have this urge to get drunk tonight because I'm sick. If I can make it till 11:30 pm the store will stop selling and I can call it four days. There are certain things in life you cannot change, certain things. I hope I can.

Hey JT and welcome. The first few days are hard to get together, but it is putting together a few of those that gets you started. Early on I think we do best if we throw everything available at our sobriety, is there a chance you could find some sort of a face to face meeting near you tonight? I haven't been on the chat room here but I believe that would also be a good way to stay checked in.

JT- You can do it. Hang on. And just think - won't it be nice to have no hangover tomorrow?

Day 3 was always hard for me. It's when I started to feel good again. I'd start to forget how awful the drunk cycle was. I still do sometimes. I'd go to bed. Lol. Still do but not as often. Hugs

Play an online game - they're addictive in a non-damaging way

I like Scrabble at wabble.org, King Games at Games Online and have just discovered a great site where you can play all the old Sega games (Sonic etc) for free:

SSega | Play Sega Genesis | Mega drive | Games Online | Sega Games

You can easily see hours fly by on these sites, so you'll get to 11:30 in no time

Hello,
I am new to this site.
I am encouraged by everyone here.
So glad to have found it.
I am only one month in recovery, and am afraid, remorseful to the point of despair, and feeling very anxious about all I have mindlessly lost....

i had to go hour by hour. that is great that you have a plan stat sober until 1130pm. keep it up bro. do something to keep you busy and your mind off it. exercise (you look like a fit guy) so go for a run around the block, vacuum your living room or cook a mean. you can make it Bro. i had to do these many times to stay sober.

Welcome to SR! Glad you are here sabella. Congrats on one month! That's awesome! You will find much support here.

Suggestion: It would be a good idea to make a new post in our Newcomers to Recovery forum. You can start a new thread there and more people will be able to welcome you.

Feel free to post anywhere you like. Again--welcome! You are not alone.

Hang in there! You can do it. Drinking won't make things any better. Like someone mentioned earlier--the chat room here is open 24/7. That was a big help to me in the beginning. Keep posting. We do recover.
