For the rockers
Hi all,
This one is for the rockers. The Metallica song "sad but true" when you put in perspective that "IT" is alcohol it rings a bell. YouTube it and post feed back on how you see this ;-)

Yeah "hate hate I'm your hate when you want love." James Hetfield is on my freebie list with my husband so always up for a little Metallica.

even though master of puppets was written about drug addiction, I relate to it when I was in the throws of alcoholism.
sad but true can mean different thing to different people.
I'm your truth, telling lies
I'm your reasoned alibis
I'm inside, open your eyes
I'm you
I think it was written about the internal fight between good and evil.

It's a given that most if not all the greats drugged and drank as countless songs throughout time were written about it. The irony is if and when any of them got sober so did their music. It's a very sad reality. Just my opinion.

Glad to see there are fans out there. James Hetfield is actually a recovering Alcoholic. He had his heavy days, kicked his lead guitar player Dave Mustain because he was a heavy drinker. If I remember correctly he Created the band Megadeth.
Suffice to say that "nothing Else matter" as long as we are sober ;-)

Queensryche's Redemption has been my sobriety theme song from the start. The chorus says it all.
Search and you’ll find the answers
To be the change that you want to see
Grant the serenity reclaiming honor and dignity
Can’t you see what’s going wrong?
Don’t you feel it growing strong?
Don’t let go, keep holding on
Working forces kneel you down
Authority and power ruling out

In the words of Steven Tyler (Aerosmith):
"Storytellling is an ongoing gift that helps me remember just how cunning the disease of addiction can be. One alcoholic or addict sharing his story with another is a powerful medicine...that has helped thousands [at the Betty Ford Center]...and, oh yeah, I'm one of them."
