Does Turkey go good with Beer or does Beer go good with Turkey?

So my Mom came over on Sunday and I cooked a Turkey. Two days later I am sitting on some leftovers and prepare the obligatory Turkey Sandwich. As I take the first bite I savor the flavor and think "I bet this would taste even better with a beer". I let out a grin at the thought because we all know that it would be the Turkey going with the beer. For the Alcoholic in me Beer goes with anything and then of course I had a Forrest Gump moment.

You can do a lot of things with Beer, Beer battered shrimp, Beer Braised Beef, Guinness Stew, Beer Popsicles or how about just drinking a Beer for dinner? The ultimate liquid lunch at your service 24 hours a day all day all you can drink buffet.

I of course laughed at myself and my thoughts while enjoying a dark roast coffee with the sandwich. No Beer here, not close and no plans. It's just funny how all these months later and I still get the occasional impulse. At least now it only provides me with some dumb self entertainment instead of leading me back down the path to oblivion.

So I guess I'll never really know which goes good with which because when it mattered to me, all that mattered was beer and nothing else mattered.

Nice to be able to let the sandwich have the spotlight for a change.

Bon Appetit

That's one thing that I am definitely thankful for. My drink of choice was beer and the only thing that I liked to eat when I was drinking was hot wings. Alcohol ruined food for me because once I had that buzz I no longer cared about the meal. Why sit in a restaurant and pay good money for a meal and not care about it? I might as well just sit home and drink.
