Quotes that help you get by
I have always been a fan of quotes and enjoyed putting them places to remind me of things. I am drinking tonight and starting over tomorrow and quitting again and hoping I can really make it this time. So my question is....
What quotes have helped you guy/gals throughout the process. Whether they help you put things into perspective, give you strength, deal with demons, or what have you. I would like to fill a giant white board I have with some. Put some on my phone. Anywhere really to help constantly remind me that I am doing the right thing and I can get past this.
I am not worried about the first week because I can always handle it, but Thanksgiving worries me since my family always has wine with dinner and one drink always turns into a blackout later. Will be skipping the wine of course but Thanksgiving will be a big first test. Holidays are always hard.
Thanks guys! You are the best.

For too long a period of time when tried 1/2 azzed to stop drinking and went to AA I felt guilt and shame and they would say KEEP COMING. fortunately I did and 30+ years later I still am.
Another thing that I heard and I often repeat because it's so true, "If we don't have that first drink, we don't have to get sober AGAIN."
BE WELL

BE WELL
Pretty much all of these. You can do it! Good luck. xo
1. I have a life-threatening problem that once had me.
I now take charge of my life and my disease. I accept the responsibility.
2. Negative thoughts destroy only myself.
My first conscious sober act must be to remove negativity from my life.
3. Happiness is a habit I will develop.
Happiness is created, not waited for.
4. Problems bother me only to the degree I permit them to.
I now better understand my problems and do not permit problems to overwhelm me.
5. I am what I think.
I am a capable, competent, caring, compassionate woman.
6. Life can be ordinary or it can be great.
Greatness is mine by a conscious effort.
7. Love can change the course of my world.
Caring becomes all important.
8. The fundamental object of life is emotional and spiritual growth.
Daily I put my life into a proper order, knowing which are the priorities.
9. The past is gone forever.
No longer will I be victimized by the past, I am a new person.
10. All love given returns.
I will learn to know that others love me.
11. Enthusiasm is my daily exercise.
I treasure all moments of my new life.
12. I am a competent woman and have much to give life.
This is what I am and I shall know it always.
13. I am responsible for myself and for my actions.
I am in charge of my mind, my thoughts, and my life.
To make the Program effective for you, arise each morning fifteen minutes earlier than usual and go over the Thirteen Affirmations. Then begin to think about each one by itself. Take one Statement and use it consciously all day. At the end of the day review the use of it and what effects it had that day for you and your actions.

Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop the picture...Do not build up obstacles in your imagination.

Don't drink at meetings and don't drink in between meetings.
Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?
To get a different result than we've ever had we must take different actions than we've ever done.

Alcoholism is a prison with the key inside the cell.
It's futile to be miserable.
Don't look back, you are not going that way.
The path to sobriety has been paved by thousands yet remains invisible to millions. Open your mind as well as your eyes.
Repeating the same steps expecting a different outcome is insanity defined.

Accept what is, let go of what was, have faith in what will be.
I don't know if this will help but I also am very careful about the words "I AM". I've found that whatever follows them I invite more of...does that make sense?
If I say "I am angry, I am irritated, I am frustrated, I am defeated"...I am more likely to feel those things in even more abundance.
But if I choose to say "I am motivated, I am inspired, I am committed, I am empowered, I am WOMAN!! " then those sentiments will build you up internally.
You can do it! One foot in front of the other!
