I had a really good coach in high school who led by example and could bring the best out in his players. His favorite saying during intense training sessions was "Champ or chump, the difference is 'YOU (U)'" I don't know why but that one always stuck with me.

It sounds silly, but "winners drink water." It's from an episode of "The League" on FX, where a former drinking buddy of the group struggles to maintain sobriety amidst the alcoholic behavior the group proliferates daily.

As a fairly young individual, I sometimes derive inspiration from media milieus targeted to my general age group. So juvenile shows like "The League" fall in that group.
