I drank Tonight
Sorry to hear Boston,
You've got a good head on your shoulders, and will get through this.
We're all hear for you..take in all the good advice you get from SR on this little mistake.
Like I said, I always relate to all of your posts. Consider you a younger version of myself
Just curious, since I totally related to all your/our withdrawal symptoms...did you experience any ''kindling'' effects in the morning? or any kinda withdrawal feelings? anything?
feel better bro...keep your stick on the ice.

If your just feel hungover then....i guess not.
Interesting, i've read lots on here that if weve experienced the hellish withdrawal symptoms, like we have, then when we drink again it leaves us in the same state after a heavy drinking episode. no matter how long you've been sober for.'' kindling''
guess it only happens to certain people. its hard for me to believe though..

sometimes we just don't realize what we had
until we throw it away
I did this many times with my sobriety
I have noticed that if we set the milestone of before
and look forward to passing it on the next go round
gives us something good to shoot for
set a goal of 69 days for now so as to pass your last mark
each day sober is a record for me now and will be someday for you also
just because you were thrown off don't give up -- get back on the sober horse
and gratefully ride

That's not exactly my experience Maxx.
I think you're mixing two things up there.
Basically my withdrawals got worse the more years I drank.
But by the end, going back to drinking after a break, it was like I never had the break, or like my alcoholism had been growing all the time I'd been sober.

Do they kick right back in after that long of a break?

I experienced everything in withdrawals except seizures.
So pretty much the only thing I have left is seizures/death then?
Im not looking for a reason to relapse for a night or anything..
Just to be so afraid of drinking that it doesnt even cross my mind anymore...cause it always does still
argh..
My experience was very different to yours too - like I said in a previous thread, I drank for the entire time you've been alive.
If you're concerned, even if in the end it is anxiety, I recommend you seek a professional opinion.

I already know my body(pancreas)/brain cant handle YEARS of drinking anymore. I just deep down know.

Accepting that not drinking was a better way for me to go worked far better Maxx

On the first post of this thread you most likely would of posted something regarding withdrawl symptoms - other than being extremely pissed off for relapsing(which you have every right to be).
Don't think I can say anymore..
Hope this doesn't get me into sh1t..
Just don't want you to be freaking out..if you don't gotta be.
trying to look out for yah..

Hey Bostonsportsfan.
Sorry to read about your night out and morning after, but very happy that you came right back. You've been working hard, and there's no reason you can't continue to do so.
Often, returning from a relapse is not about working harder, but working different.

Did you ever relapse after your last detox/rehab.
