My son is a convicted felon yet has managed not to get a DUI. I had a family member permanently disfigured in a drunk driving incident and the driver barely served any time. I think he remembered that and has avoided dui despite his other troubles. DUI is a violent crime. It cost a lot of money and it should. Fines, classes, insurance, breathaylzers and everything else. I hope there are many hoops to jump through. I hope it makes people broke and re-thinks their decisions to drive drunk again.

The more self important you get the more you think the laws don't apply. Its hubris. Given that most of the people writing the laws are hypocrite politicians that are guilty of all these crimes, I sort of understand the logic.

Sometimes getting caught is the best wakeup call. I doubt Sam is going to learn a lesson from this, so one may ask if he really got off?
