Lets Shake It Up, Time To Inspire
Lets Shake It Up, Time To Inspire
Hey guys! I am 37 days into my sobriety. So far, I can honestly say that I have both good and bad days. This past week was particularly challenging. At first pebbles were being thrown, then curve balls and finally I was in a horrible full blown game of dodgeball One issue I have are flashing memories of the many bad choices, horrendous behavior and embarassing things I've done while drunk. I know we can't take back or redo our yesterdays, but it's still hard to cope with at times. I came across this quote while reading today. It was simple yet touching. It simply stated. " Never put a question mark where God puts a period". I would love for some of you to share some quotes or sayings that have helped you along your journey.
Mine is in my sig line, because it's exactly what I used to do. Through sobriety I also learned that I wasn't really as full of sorrow as I thought I was, I just led myself to believe it so I could drink.
My reaction? He had some good things to say. Some I might have worded differently or in a different manner, Overall I thought he was about where he was supposed to be for 13 years. Some reactions to him seem to be a function of time in sobriety and cultural.
I do not find it hard to understand that a passionate Texan might irk someone from the UK. ;-)

For me, one of my favorite AA quote is:
"More will be revealed"
It reminds me that just because things aren't working out my way, they can always change. Maybe I didn't get the job because a far better one is waiting for me, or I didn't succeed in one place because the opportunity wasn't what I thought it was. When I'm discouraged, this is the phrase that I think about, and it usually lifts my spirits. I trust God, know that God loves me, and believe that God has my best interests at heart. I hold up my end of the bargain, stay sober, be honest, do my best and treat others as I would like for them to treat me. If things still don't go the way I want them too, I remind myself again...More will be revealed.

More will be revealed.
That is very good LBO. We often get so impatient in our journeys, or think we know everything about a situation or person (annoying work colleagues come to mind!)...when often we don't.
Thank you for sharing!

Alcoholic: Terminal uniqueness!
Alcoholic: They didn't make a glass big enough for me to have one drink.
The destiny of every alcoholic is to be locked up, covered up or sobered up.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery, and today is a gift.
