I've been laughing my behind off lately now over 9 months sober. i used to laugh a lot when I was drinking but it was mostly fake laughter. After a good belly laugh I find that it's almost like a good drug. My endorphins go sky high

and everything in life seems a little lighter. For a while there I was too serious in my sobriety. Maybe something was wrong with my brain chemicals and I couldn't loosen up. I can have a conversation on a phone with my friend, who is hilarious, and end up in on the floor. I can barely breath. I was feeling down

and he laid a joke on me the almost sent me to to ER. The laughter totally changed my mood. Have you been finding laughter good medicine in sobriety? Have you been able to laugh?

Watched the movie...This is the end...movie yesterday.

Found myself laughing pretty hard at times. Incredibly stupid movie - Still funny to me though

Yes. I make it a point and a rule to find something to have a good laugh over each day. It could be an idea, Youtube is a GOLD MINE, TV shows, etc. I think its important and that it really is the best medicine, and as you mentioned, it can change your mood for the better.

I'm a massive "laugher". And I love to make people laugh. I so agree that it is the best medicine. My father, myself and my brother all cry when we laugh deeply. And when the three of us are together there are tissues everywhere!

My husband is very dry and quick witted and normally gives me my first laugh of the day within five minutes of waking.

And laugh
and lift".

It's the best drug there is.

for the record I am a grown man and when frightened do not scream like a little girl
