Where I am now, 6 months later
About 6 months ago, when I was in a terrible place, I posted this:

I was shocked at the outpouring of support I received, and now, 6 months later, I am in fact studying abroad in Chile. I spent my 21st birthday have sparkling juice and with some very supportive friends. AA and my sponsor have become a huge part of my life, in more than the sense of just staying sober. I completed an intensive outpatient program at Hazelden. I have lost about 20 pounds and found myself again.
I barely remember writing my prior post, or any of the time surrounding it. It was almost as if I was in a drunken haze for those weeks, even though I wasn't drinking. I had no hope, and resented everyone in my life. I know this sounds like a million other stories out there, but I guess I just want to put it out there that young people do struggle and recover, and there is always a way out of the hole you have dug.
One of my favorite quotes through out this time has been this: "An alcoholic is anyone whose life gets better when they stop drinking."This offered so much clarity to me and I hope it can for someone else as well.
The attached photo is the difference in my physical appearance since stopping drinking.
