On the basis of the responses thus far, I suppose we can just genuinely try to do our best for our own moral betterment, in accordance with how we understand things regards the dangers of alcohol.
As for others, and helping them, I think this also applies with the proviso that our personal views should not impinge upon those of others too forcefully, by virtue of our own frailties.
