Hi All,
I don't post often, but I'd like to say that today is 2 years of sobriety for me. I hope this encourages some of you to stick to it. There was a time when I couldn't imagine going a day without drinking. I was pretty bad off. If I can do it you all can also.
I didn't do AA or rehab. I just decided that my body/mind couldn't take it any longer. There have certainly been some rough patches. I've lost the majority of my friends, as they are of course all huge drinkers. It's important to find a hobby. I got a dog and decided to get serious about weight lifting. When you're used to drinking all the time, you have to find a better way to pass the time.
Getting to sleep sober was a huge obstacle. I initially didn't get much sleep, but it passes. Now I sleep better than ever. When I wake up, I don't feel like complete dog crap. I'm ready to tackle the day. It's nice to be able to plan your day and feel normal.
When I was drinking I remember waking up on Monday mornings and it would literally feel eerie. As much as I hated the cycle, I'd have to have some drinks just to get the day started. I'm so glad this part of my life is over with.
Anyways, here is my annual post, lol. Just keep on keeping on! Best of luck to all!

congrats on the 2 year mark.
83 days into sobriety and sleeping is still a problem with me. I realize that for 25 years I was passing out and then not getting good sleep. My sleep is all over the place now and I figure things can only get better in time.

Congrats on 2 years, PAR. A lot of your post has been my sober story of 9 months. I didn't drink on Monday mornings but had a terrible outlook on life (and what I now know was withdrawals). Mondays are much better now.
I look forward to signing in at 2 years.
