VIVID dreams the night of a binge
I've always thought alcohol suppressed REM sleep and that after falling asleep drunk you didn't dream much that night... but when I starting binging more, the nights after passing out I would start dreaming extremely vividly and detailed.... I thought it was weird so I looked it up and read this:
Alcohol can also have an impact on REM sleep; it suppresses it during the first half of the night, leading to a rebound four to five hours after sleep onset. (Wikipedia)
It would make sense that once your blood alcohol drops throughout the night your REM comes back stronger than ever to make up for the first half.
Anyone else experience this? Like I mean dreaming to the point you really think it's reality.
