Sober Days
Sober Days
Today I have been sober for 1,792 days. That's no milestone except that's a ton of miracles right there! I didn't think I could do 30 days and look at me now!
So to those of you who are just getting started or well on you're way and feeling down. There is hope. Anything is possible as long as you work for it.
Today i am so grateful for my sobriety and that I was able to change my outlook on life.

Fantastic. Congratulations.
I'm on 107 days.
Be great if you could share some insight on your success.
How did your sobriety change between 3 to 6 months? 6 months to a year? And since 1 year?
When did you feel most comfortable in your sobriety?
Thanks in advance

It's been a journey of growth and set backs. Good times and struggles. No matter what I know drinking isn't a solution to anything.
The difference between 3 and 6 months. I don't know. Just days really. The longer I stay sober the better it gets.
I used inpatient rehab, therapy, psychiatrists, AA, and SR in my journey. I had to get some people in my corner and then fight for my life with their help. I finally understood I couldn't do it alone as unsettling as that was. It saved my life.

Congratulations and thank you. What an inspirational post, it is so helpful to hear about what it is like. Thank you for pointing out the benchmarks too, it is so helpful. I would send you cheesecake (picture) but I don't know how.!
Hi dbillyd -
Congrats on 100+days! I'm at 9 months, and can comment on 3 - 6.
During the first 90, I stayed in and was very tired. From 3 - 6, I started rebuilding my life, by connecting with people & engaging in activities.
I also decided to make a lot more life chances that would reinforce my sobriety - such as quitting smoking, and making a commitment to do yoga. Basically a lot of physical & emotional self care that I had been neglecting. I did (and still do) a lot of reflection.
At 9 months, I'm continuing to peel back the onion to understand the underlying reasons for why I used alcohol - and how I can make better choices. EX: I have a lot of negative self talk that I didn't notice until 6 months - and practicing positive self talk until it's habit takes a while.
