Well, I filled out five surveys, 40 questions each, most of them asking if I was trying to kill myself or if I was schizo. I'm just like dude.... I'm ******* up in school and I'm having some problems with alcohol, that's the extent of it...
but I digress, she basically told me that I need to come in tomorrow for an assessment with a drug and alcohol (not sure why they separate them, IMO alcohol is a drug) "specialist." And when she read the name I couldn't help but get a feeling of sickness in my stomach as it seemed oddly familiar. Fingers crossed, I'm hoping it's not the guy I had before in my intensive outpatient rehab. That was 3 years ago and I know his son went to school here. I realllyy dislike that guy. He had me admit to things that I didn't even do. Again, I digress...

she said if I have to I can get a medical w/d at any time in the semester, but tomorrow we will be going over my options. Medical w/d is not something I want to do at this time, but if it saves my GPA later down the road then it's nice knowing I can w/d whenever. Rehab is not an option for me either right now. AA and some good old fashion hard work is all I want at this moment, she kind of made me mad though because I was more concerned about my school work and how to succeed and she didn't even give me any information on how I can do better, as far as resources go. Alcohol is a problem, I understand that 100%, but I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone here, not drop out of school or attend some rehabilitation nonsense

If i get this you want to go throught he schools medical program so that you can get a medical leave of sorts to save your GPA etc.. But you'd from there like to just go on to AA or something? Sounds like an OK plan unless they want you to play by there rules. Maybe after you get some kind of medical leave excused absense thing if they want you to play on there rules you can flip it on them and just haul off and do AA? I'm not sure how it all works.
