Free dinner and drinks!!

I was invited to a dinner tonight, at a gourmet restaurant to hear a educational speaker. The corporate sponsor was picking up the check. Four course meal, complete with complimentary wine from a fancy list, and top shelf liquors.

A year ago I would have drank way,way too much and made a complete arse out of myself!! Tonight I don't have to!! I had pleasant conversation with other professionals, learned some things, and didn't have a drop of alcohol!!

What freedom, I'm no longer in bondage!! Very, very grateful to be sober!!

The great thing about spirtual experience Kathleen is you are free to do anything free people can do, without the need to drink. The result of all that step work. Well done.

Great going!
I remember a party once, after I had about six months sober, where there was the finest food and free booze at six open bars. I had a couple of cokes and ate a lot.
It wasn't until the next day that I realized it never entered my mind to order a drink. I was amazed. Six months earlier I wouldn't have eaten and hit the six different bars so no one suspected I was a drunk.

Your post is inspirering. Isn't it great to be in that situation and not drink?

Wishing you the best.

That's an awesome feeling isn't it? In being realistic I know that for some brief moments I do have a little bit of a pity party with myself that there is alcohol and I won't be having any. You can get past that pretty quick though and it's soooooooo nice leaving a place as the same person that you were coming in.

I laugh now too because I actually care what the food is that they'll be serving. Who needed that previously?!

Great post Kathleen!
