Stinking thinking of drinking
Hi guys,
I am just over 2 months sober this time round and it is late at night where I am and I want to drink. If anything I just want to sleep and switch off. I don't really want to drink and deal with all those consequences-I am just itching for some oblivion. I keep thinking HALT and I know I am tired. Sucks I have to be up in less than 5 hours to work and I can't get any rest.
I don't want to drink. And I won't drink. It is just hard sometimes and I wanted to share. I'll go to work tomorrow. Get myself through the day. Ring another alcoholic. And get to a meeting.
One day at a time is all I've got.

I am in AA and attend regular meetings. I am also doing the Steps. It is just too late to ring anyone so I thought I would log on here. Going to listen to an AA seminar and try and get some rest
Blue Eyed Boy, you said it yourself. It's late, you've got two months under your belt, and you're about to chalk up another day. Congratulations! Late at night is rough..remember the old song...
When the sun is high in the afternoon sky, you can always find something to do
But from dusk till dawn as the clock ticks on, something happens to you...
That's "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning", if you are a youngster . Stay online and read SR, drink some herbal tea and be happy that you'll wake tomorrow morning feeling like a normal, healthy person, not a half dead miserable wretch!
