I experienced this in my hands toward the end of my drinking.. and honestly I almost forgot about it until I read this thread. I can't remember how long it took to go away, but it did.

Thank you Flutter.

It is encouraging to hear that it may be reversable and yes, I know everyone is different.

Congradulations on your sobriety ! It is almost 5 years coming up ??? AWESOME !!!

Thanks
Dave

Ok so I was never formally diagnosed with neuropathy but I'm quite certain I HAD it. I wasn't honest with DR about the extent if my drinking and when told her if my symptoms she diagnosed me with Raynauds syndrome. My symptoms were constant tingling of my right arm I use to try and shake all the time to no avail to rid those pins and needles. My toes and fingers were always cold and took on a purplish color. And lastly I had a very notice muscular weakness of my right extremities. Actually in a family vacation my mom and sis were teasing me that after a couple of glasses of wine my right arm went limp.

At close to 5 months sober I do NOT have one of those symptoms remaining!!!! You have to get and stay sober. And remarkably you body can heal itself. It's so worth it to feel physically well daily!

Good luck and I hope you get some relieve soon

Thank you for sharing that Imperfectly...These types of posts give me a lot of hope that things can be overcome and the damage repaired.

I know the first big step is to overcome the drinking, get sober and stay that way. I just don't understand why that first step is so difficult to take.

Yes..."Cunning, baffling and powerful" is putting it mildly.

Thanks for your input.
Dave
