Well it's one o'clock in the morning (UK time), I'm sitting here with a bump on my head, a big red hooter (nose) and a carpet burn on both knees - oh and I'm 60 quid lighter ($100.??) and there's still blood on the carpet. (from my nose)

I'm not looking for sympathy, but I just wanted to share what happened to me when I decided to have that first beer yesterday (Tuesday).

Time to make some serious effort I think, meetings, support, whippings, anything to help me through this. This can't go on.

(((JC))) Sorry that you had to learn another lesson. It's a real bite in the a$$. Now, you know you don't want to keep drinking and keep getting the same results. Or the results can get worse.

It's funny. I wanted to believe that all these people were right. That I just have to not drink today. That AA works if you work it. Want to drink, call your sponsor. That things would get better.

Well, to my surprise, it DOES work!! I love walking into an AA meeting and telling the old timers they were right again. Now, at 6 weeks sober, I'm losing my desire to drink. How cool is that?!

You can do it! One day, one minute, one second, at a time!

Just hang in there. We're all here for you!

go to that meeting, go to rehab, do SMART, whatever it takes.
