right this moment i find myself wondering whether you see yourself as a person with a drinking problem or a person with alcoholism/an alcoholic or whether these are interchangeable to you? you used both in your OP.
My original post was posted simply to explore a topic I had been thinking about. As for myself, I like to stay practical and avoid semantic arguments over terminology wherever possible. Drinking caused misery and problems in my life and I couldn't find a way to stop it. That's all I need to know to take action.

I think a valuable lesson we could all take away is, whatever problem you are facing, drinking over it isn't going to solve it. And I think that's true whether you're an alcoholic or not.
