Red veins on face and chest

Hi

I turned 6 months sober after nearly ten years of alcoholism.
I wonder if anyone can give me some advice please.
Do you know if these will ever go away? As of today there is very little improvement.

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Kelly

"Gin Blossoms" - I had quite a mess with them Kelly. After a year most of them had faded or disappeared, but I have one on my cheek that is still with me after 5 yrs. sober. I think it'll take longer than 6 mos. to see an improvement. Congratulations on your sober time.

Mine faded a bit but I am not sure they will ever go away. A good foundation helps

I have a lot of these and am glad to hear that they've faded with sober time for some of you (too soon to say for me, unfortunately). I'm putting money saved on booze in a fund for some photofacials. I think this is one of the few dermatology procedures that can reduce the veins. Has anyone tried these?

I always thought they were associated with cirrhosis of the liver but apparently not. I've not got them but all the old heavy drinkers in my local bar have got them on their cheeks, one of them who stopped drinking last year used to have them on his face and nose but now has very clear and soft skin. Good skin is one of the many visible benefits who will get upon cessation of drinking.
