Are you a driver or a passenger in your life? Our choices determine who we are!

in life, I am a passenger. I didn't do too good when I was the driver.

on a school bus, I think Id want to be a passenger, too. I remember how I was and also how a lot of the other kids were and I wouldn't be responsible for all them lil monsters!

I've always been the driver in my life... Career wise, family wise, etc. Alcohol began to get in the way of that, and that's why I had to drive alcohol out of my life...

In life im driving with God as my co-pilot. I
looked over to the passanger side of the car
and there He is. Never do I ever have to be
alone. He makes the most Awesome company
to have while driving, guiding me every mile
I drive, every step I make, every breath I take.

He in my opinion is the Best Awesome HP or
God of my understanding to have in my recovery
life.

The Driver. Never the passenger.
In my opinion it is the self-reliant strong people who will one day prevail.

Beautifully said ForMyGirls,

I allowed alcohol to drive my life for years until I made a choice to change. It's the best choice that I ever made.

Today, I have a choice, I am not powerless!!

Love,

CS

mmmm...I chose 9 months ago (Monday) to turn the driving of my life over to my Higher Power. Each day I am amazed at how much better my life is 'running' because I'm NOT doing the driving. Bobbi

I have gotten out of the driver's seat and let my HP take the wheel. I do find myself backseat driving from time to time, but I settle down when HP threatens to pull the car over.

That's beautifully said. I chose to be the driver because I don't think that I'm powerless either. Nobody is powerless. Then of course as alcohol is a chemical substance it affects the body, chemicals, brain chemistry and yes, before that, "powerless" only because it is a physical/natural law at that moment... Just like gravity that keeps us from floating all the time.

Also, it means to be the driver to accept that everything in my life is the result of my decisions and actions. So is alcoholism, even though it is easy to start playing the victim mentality. It is to take responsibility for the own life, and make it into something better. It doesn't mean asking God to do things for me that I should be doing myself. Powerful, not powerless. Yes.

On a race team there's really no such thing as a passenger, everyone is a part of the crew--even the driver!

What a powerful statement LadyBlue0527...I have a friend who uses this acronym. "MRWSCF-My Relationship with Source comes first"

I truly believe that in aligning with our creator and continuing to make good choices that anything is possible.

I'm definitely the driver, but God is my GPS and guide. I'm glad I'm back to listening to Him and not the alcohol. I'm going great places now!

I'm reading a book entitled Free Will, which seeks to really answer the question. Pretty fascinating stuff.

Junegirl...I agree 100%--I drive the bus by making the choices necessary to stay between the lines and God shines a light in the distance and puts up the bumper guards when needed ;-)

My relationship with God along with my good choices is unstoppable!!

CS
