drunks and addicts = high risk group
drunks and addicts = high risk group
when it comes to ones who live
in a high risk group for dying and or hurting others
active drinking drunks and using addicts I think top the list
I'm still today after decades in AA
amazed by the ones who go back out drinking and or using
and
die
or
hurt or kill others
the news is full of these stories of tragedy every day
and
many of my friends who were once sober
fit into this category today
a few dead, in prison, in jails, in hospitals etc etc etc
if
we are sober today
we need to count our blessings

Dying Under The Influence Facts On Alcohol And Drinking
The way I see it, about one out of ten people become addicted (please don't ask me for an exact figure). About one out of ten addicts get into recovery. About one out of ten of those in recovery get long-term sobriety.
That makes me one out of a thousand. For that I am grateful. Because of that I no longer feel like a VICTIM of addiction. Hopefully one day they can say at my funeral:
"He was a VICTOR over addiction".
