.....take part in something that has been a part of my bucket list for a loooooooong time. This event takes a time commitment and lots of practice. It also requires rehearsal today and tomorrow before the actual event occurs.

I've had the info since last Wednesday. If I were not sober I wouldn't have even considered signing up because I know that today I would be sooooooooo hung over. I also know that I wouldn't have spent Friday night nor last night practicing on my own.

I am grateful for my sobriety. Alcohol can no longer take away all the things that I had wanted to do but couldn't.

I can feel good about myself and my ability to commit to a self respecting life.

DO STATISTICS HOMEWORK! -- am I done with grad school yet?
And feel a sense of peace, less anxiety, and am feeling much more pure in mind, body, and spirit.

...try to help others on SR today because I am not wallowing in self-loathing and self-pity.

Actually I wouldn't even be up yet, I'd still be sleeping it off.

Remember what happened in the UFC. I hate staying up late to watch sport then having to ask people who won the next day, even though I watched it.

Because I stayed sober last night today I can get so much done today!

Before I stopped, saturday & sunday was nothing more than drinking from 6 am to around 10 pm. Weekdays were the same however I worked 8 to 10 hours a day. Sundays I used to dread even doing basic adult chores, cleaning up (which I did let get out of hand ) doing laundry ( sometimes once every 2 weeks), not planning out the week work schedule.

Here I am 8:38 pm now, ready for work, house & clothes clean, had dinner, done dishes, and about to talk a nice shower. Have a nice glass of warmed milk and watch some tv.

Different reality...... way different place.

wake up instead of pass back in. not have to worry about what I did yesterday.recovery hasn't completely helped my memory. I don't remember everything I did yesterday, but I know I didn't drink or do anything to bring on terror, bewilderment, and remorse

No hangover
Took a shower
Got dressed
Went to lunch
Went to a meeting and heard the greatest speaker I have heard so far. Felt such good emotion because Today I am on the path he is on.
I could look all my family members in the eye.
No regrets

Study.
Clean.
Go to the dentist without the embarrassment of alcohol-damaged teeth.
Feel calm.

No hangover.
No aching body.
No slow, fogged mind.

Alertness.
Acuity.
ENERGY.

Control my drinking...

Just kidding.

...I can eat, sleep, and wakeup early in the morning. What I do or don't do from that point is a whole other thing

Enjoy a hot walk with my dog and then have a productive, busy day at work focusing tasks and completing them, rather than struggling through a hangover, guilt, and exhaustion. I never want to feel like that again. Never.

I can eat healthily instead of having to nurse my hangover with junk food and pop.
