15 years!
17 July marked 15 years without a drink for me. There's nothing special about me, if I can do this anyone can. But it took a while to get us into this mess so it understandably takes a while to get out of it.
I had many relapses at first, but I got past them by figuring out what went wrong and devising plans for when those situations arose again. I'm not recovered nor will I ever be in that I'll always be an alcoholic, and I've accepted that fact.
It may seem impossible at times but I've never heard of anyone who absolutely could not stop.
Good luck and good move to all those who are putting down the poison, you can do this. One day at a time or one minute at a time their are no rules in this, do whatever it takes to stop.
