I thought it was two fifths for men.

Our most recent instance of Navy "Alcohol Awareness Training" said that 1-2 drinks per MONTH is "light drinking" and I think it was something like more than 5-6 per month is "heavy". Pretty stringent.

I remember in the army them trying to limit sales in the boozer to 6 cans. Went off like a flat balloon. No one stood for it.
Those health questionnaires they give over here to go work in the mines. They ask how many standard drinks you consume on average in a sitting and how many nights a week you drink. I doubt most are honest in answering looking at the beer guzzlers here on site and remembering my answers. The questionnaire pretty well puts what I would consider a very mild drinker in the "risk" category for health and safety. I remember having a goal once of sticking to 22 units in a week and gave up after a couple of days.
They are trying to change the culture here but the social impact of drug and alcohol use in the industry and our armed services is as bad now as ever. Really noticed since sobering up.
BTW. Got introduced to tequila slammers and mescal and chewing tobacco by some US Navy pilots on shore leave. Near died that night.

To be honest I have had issues with people who overeat for quite some time, which is of course absolutely ridiculous considering I have an addictive personality myself!
Up until I was about 18 I was very overweight and then when a few things happened in my life I lost a hell of a lot of weight in a short space of time. To the point where at least two people 'had a word' with me because they thought I was using hard drugs.
I sort of evened out over a few years so now pretty much average now.

I still have issues with eating in public, I don't like it. Which is odd because I was never really bullied or anything when I was overweight, but for whatever reason greedy people do make my blood boil somewhat.
I work with six girls and five of them don't stop eating all day, i've never seen anything like it.

I know i'm a complete hypocrite tho before anyone starts!
